Arrival at the airport: How to board safely

Arriving at the airport can be a stressful time. An airport terminal is a huge and impressive place. Composed of several terminals, with several airlines per terminal, the path to boarding follows a well defined procedure. Here are the key steps for a serene boarding.

Arrival at the airport

First, you will have to go to the terminal indicated on your ticket that you have printed or downloaded to your smartphone.

Next, present your passport and boarding pass to a staff member of the airline you are traveling with.

If you have luggage (be careful with the size of your luggage!), put it on the conveyor belt and it will be sent to the hold. If this is not the case and you only have hand luggage, simply go directly to the boarding gate with your carry-on baggage and insert it into the compartments above your seat on the plane.

Your gate number is indicated on your boarding pass.

Once you have checked your luggage and obtained your boarding pass, you can proceed to the first security checkpoint.

To save time, take your laptop/tablet out of your bag and put it in the bins for that purpose. Make sure you don’t have any metallic or dangerous objects.

Once you have passed through the gate, collect your bag and belongings and wait for boarding.

Once you arrive at your destination you will have to collect your luggage. Look for the billboard with your flight number and the airline you traveled with.

Now all you have to do is meet your host family who will be waiting for you at the airport!
