My name is Cara and I live with my husband Glyn and my two children, ages 10 and 6, in the lovely little town of Ashburton in an eco-friendly home that we built ourselves. We live on the outskirts of the city, within walking distance of the stores, in the countryside, with beautiful views.

I am a photographer and my husband is a health care researcher and also a DJ. We both work from home. Glyn and I both have qualifications in teaching English as a foreign language. We speak English at home and our children speak English.

A typical day with us

During school time, we all have breakfast together, then I walk our kids to school and sometimes I run home. I work part-time in a flexible way, I do the shopping, I prepare the meals. We are happy to help with language learning during the day for an hour or two and take you to places, walks, etc.

In the evenings we all have dinner together and some nights the kids have clubs to go to. We play board games and play in the garden. We have a large garden with a trampoline, a climbing frame and a soccer net. On weekends and during school vacations, we do outdoor activities with the children. We go to the beach, we also go for walks in the Dartmoor National Park or on the coast. We also like to go swimming in the local pool, in the river or on the beach.
